Henley and District Stamp Club
Like many Clubs and Societies, we are looking for new members. You would be surprised how wide a range of interest there is in stamp collecting. It is not just collecting little pieces of paper but looking at how they are designed, manufactured and used.
There is a wide range of subjects that come under the umbrella of philately.
The Henley Stamp Club is a friendly group, and we would be delighted to see new visitors or members. If you are interested in facts concerning stamps or postal history, why not come along and explore how you can promote your interest?
Here is a picture of Czeslaw Slania a remarkable Polish stamp engraver. He was born in Poland and moved to Sweden. Over his lifetime he produced over 1,000 steel engravings for stamps. Meet him on Wednesday 13 November 2024.
On 27 November 2024 there will be an exciting speaker, Tim Harrison, presenting Estonia Postal History and a display of Icelandic stamps.
There is only one meeting for December, on Wednesday 11 December 2024, and it will be a Postcard Evening where members have an opportunity to display some interesting postcards. We may also find out some interesting facts about the postcard and how it has developed.
